Hermann J. Wiemer 2015 Magdalena Vineyard Riesling

93 points

Opulent, impossibly complex nose begins with a burst of tropical fruits -- pineapple, passionfruit, and guava -- before getting into layers of lime blossom, lime zest, rose petals and wet gravel.

Rich and concentrated, the mouth-filling palate is lush with more tropical fruits, grapefruit/lime and a gravel driveway after a rainstorm. The finish is long and floral with a nice bit of cut. Classic wine from a classic Finger Lakes vineyard.
