Mattebella Vineyards 2016 Rose

86 points

This blend of cabernet franc and merlot is a bright, summery salmon-pink in the glass. It offers mostly fruity aromas — things like peaches and strawberries with some higher-toned lemon zest notes on top.

Fresh and nervy with acidity that is juicy in a lemon-lime citrus sort of way, this brightly colored, medium-bodied roseé is fairly straightforward, showing strawberry and white cherry flavors with a subtle dried herb note that probably comes from the cabernet franc.
