Working Dog Winery 2015 Merlot

88 points

Spiced plums and blackberries are joined by notes of milk chocolate, mint and eucalyptus on a pretty, layered nose. Youthful on the medium-bodied palate, there's more dark fruit here with the same mint and chocolate character. Solid mid-palate concentration that doesn't turn jammy or heavy. Structure provided by acidity as well as moderately well-integrated, still-softening tannins. Showed best on days two and three open.
