Hickory Hollow Wine Cellars 2016 Riesling

91 points

Core aromas of peach and apricot are layered with notes of chalky earth, citrus blossom, lemon balm and spicy botrytis on a complex nose that belies this wine's price point.

While lithe and almost feathery on the palate, there is a nice bit of concentration on the mid-palate with wonderful gritty pear texture to its citrus and peach flavors. The acidity is nervy but well-incorporated -- to the point that this wine finishes nearly dry despite the 2% residual sugar. A great sub-$20 Finger Lakes Riesling.
