Osmote Wine 2014 Seneca Lake Chardonnay

91 points

The "Lenn is wrong about Chardonnay" tour of East Coast Chardonnay continues with this beautiful, expertly balanced example.

Fruit aromas of Golden Delicious apple, pineapple and sweet citrus are accented by notes of citrus blossoms, balanced almonds and rainwater on a multiplex nose. More peachy than apple-y on a medium-light bodied palate, there is great fruit intensity here, with tropical overtones. Oak footprint is there, but somewhat subtle as a nutty, earthy streak. Very flavorful given the body with fresh acidity and a long, slightly minerally finish. Drank best a cool room temperature.
