Paumanok Vineyards 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
The nose leads with lemon and grapefruit zest, along with notes of green melon, lemony herbs and just a little tropical character. It’s a bit more tropical on the medium-bodied palate, showing ripe pineapple and passion fruit flavors that are accented by bright, zesty citrus flavors and subtle grassy herb notes.
It’s fruity, but not too fruity, with nice mid-palate concentration and a long, sweet lemon finish that is dry and crisp with acidity.
You can pair this with just about any local seafood fare, but the oysters the winery has available some summer and fall weekends seem like a great foil for the bright citrusy character here.
