Nine-Four Wines 2016 Dry Rosé Sparkling Wine
This fruity, frothy rosé was made from the Rougeon grape, an inter-specific hybrid used mostly for blending. Black cherry aromas are joined by a distinct grape-y quality on a straightforward, fruity nose.
More frothy than sparkling, it's mouth-filling in its cherry-grape-red currant flavors, which are slightly candied in nature. Though labeled dry, there is at least the perception of a little residual sugar here, but the bubbles, along with brisk acidity, balance that nicely. The finish isn't long, but there is some red apple skin and cherry pit there that brings just a little complexity.
