Left Foot Charley 2017 “Le Caban” Riesling

Left Foot Charley 2017 "Le Caban" Riesling

90 points

I continue to be extremely impressed with the rieslings made by Bryan Ulbrich at Left Foot Charley. This just off-dry example is super-bright on the nose with fresh lime and limoncello aromas backed by an entire orchard of citrus blossom notes.

Lithe and lighter bodied, there is the most subtle bit of sweetness to the perfectly ripe peach and citrus flavors but with plenty of juicy, electric acidity. It's not the most complex wine in its youth, but this is a wine that exemplifies purity and balance.
