Our own Valerie Kathawala is co-hosting an introduction to Finger Lakes wine next week at Grape Collective NYC and I wanted to let our readers know about it.

Get to know one of NYC’s very own world-class wine regions as Marco Salerno and Valerie Kathawala lead this intro-level class and guided tasting designed to deepen your understanding of what’s happening in the vineyards and cellars of the FLX. Taste historic bubbles from pioneer winery Dr. Konstantin Frank, single-vineyard rieslings from phenom Kelby Russell of Red Newt, single clone rieslings from newcomer Boundary Breaks, cool-climate cabernet franc from rising star Atwater Estate Vineyards, and a true rarity made from the native Niagra grape.

We’ll talk history, geography, soils, terroir, varieties, styles in a small, informal setting conducive to lots of Q&A.
