Hunt Country Vineyards 2017 Reserve Riesling

88 points

Winemaker Craig Hosbach's first reserve riesling, this one is fermented partially in neutral American oak.

The nose is pretty classic Finger Lakes: peaches and apricots with lime peel and pulp. It's on the palate where it diverges from the norm a bit. There is a faint but present creaminess and nuttiness on the mid-palate that is well balanced by fresh fruit flavors and acidity.

This is one of the best wines I've tasted from Hunt Country Vineyards. Maybe the best, actually.
