Wolffer Estate 2019 "Summer in a Bottle" Rose

86 points

This well-packaged, kitchen-sink of a blend rose will sell out before Labor Day (although COVID-19 may slow that) but this year, I prefer the $18 Estate Rose a bit better.

The nose is very pear-forward with layers of peach, passionfruit, rose petals and curry leaf.

A nice little bit of creaminess on the mid-palate is nice and brings some texture to the peach and mango flavors. Subtle herbal and floral qualities bring some complexity. It's by no means flabby, but it's softer due to some residual sugar.
