Early Mountain Vineyards 2017 Eluvium
The merlot-heavy (72%) nature of this blend comes through on a nose that bursts with ripe plum and black cherry fruit as well as notes of blueberry jam, blackberry, sweet herbs, and cigar box.
Concentrated and well structured, the palate offers a lot of dark fruit character backed by some spice, a hint of minty herbs, and a little sweet cedar. Ripe, plush tannins make this wine approachable today, but also make me think it will age beautifully for 5-10 years or more.
