Montezuma Winery 2019 "Hope" Dry Rosé

87 points

You might think that the combination of grapes is a bit weird (okay, it is) but it works. The nose is fresh and bright with Ruby Red grapefruit, rose petal, and a little lychee and cherry.

Lighter bodied, the palate is similar fresh with citrusy acidity and flavors that bounce between ripe citrus and fresh flowers. There are shadows of red berries here too, but it's much more citrus-driven with delicate rose and lavender background flavors.

Unique to be sure, but also fun.

Note: A portion of the proceeds from sales of this wine will be donated to the Hope for Heather organization towards funding for ovarian cancer awareness, research, and local support. Find out more at hopeforheather.org
