Made with fruit grown in Zugibe Vineyard on Seneca Lake, this riesling shows beautiful aromas of green apple, fennel frond, lemon, and lime zest and a lightly floral note.
That citrus fruit is forward on a balanced, medium-to-light bodied palate that is zesty and fresh with citrusy acidity. There is a subtle leesy note on the mid-palate that brings both texture and a little almond flavor. The finish is dry and begging for food.

Why is is this a 29 dollar bottle of wine?

Sue, I can’t speak for the winery of course, but I’d say that this being a small-production wine contributes to the price. It’s well under 100 cases.

Hi Sue, I’m the winemaker and owner of Trestle Thirty One. Thank you fir asking about our pricing. We have always focused on making the absolute best wine for special sites in the Finger Lakes. As Lenn points out we are small however we feel our wines are priced fairly and even offer a value when compared to similar quality wines from across the globe. For example, the classic GG Trocken style Rieslings from Germany will routinely set you back well over $50. Comparatively, our wine is a value which offers a similar style and quality for much less. When making our wines I routinely taste them blind next to wines of two and three times the price to make sure we are continuing to offer value for those who love these styles of wine. We keep our Riesling on the lees for 9 months prior to bottling and keep the wine in bottle 12-14 no the prior to release to ensure that when the bottle reaches our customers it is perfectly ready to drink.
Cheers!
