TasteCamp 2017: Maryland, presented by The Cork Report, will take place June 9-11, 2017, centered in Frederick, MD.
TasteCamp is an annual conference that I founded in 2009 with the goal of immersing bloggers, writers and members of the wine and beverage trade members in a wine region that they may not be familiar with for a weekend of talks, vineyard walks and tastings with the people making the best and most interesting wines, ciders, beer and spirits in the host region.
We started on Long Island, but have visited Virginia, the Finger Lakes, Ontario, Quebec, the Hudson River Valley and Vermont as well.
East coast wine enthusiasts know about the great wines being made in New York and Virginia, but Maryland is an up-and-comer that deserves way more attention than it’s getting. So, when it came time to decide where to take TasteCamp this year, it was an easy choice.
This is not a junket. Attendees pay for their own travel, hotel and meals. But, we do try to keep costs down through sponsorships and package deals. I’m happy to report that we have a few sponsors lined up already:
- Grow & Fortify
- Maryland Wineries Association
- Brewers Association of Maryland
- Maryland Distillers Guild
I’m working with various members of the Maryland beverage industry to put together our agenda and programming and hope to announce more details soon.
In the meantime, if you are a writer, blogger, wine buyer, sommelier or other member of the beverage trade, I’d like to invite you to join us. We only have 30 slots, so please register as soon as you can to avoid being locked out.
Note: We do have a hotel block reserved. Once you register, I’ll send the information to you (because we have limited rooms).
