Sourced from a newer planting (three year), this unadorned, lighter-bodied red shows the fruity-spicy combination that makes Bläufrankisch so compelling. Black fruits -- blackberries and black cherries -- dominate both the nose and the palate, but there are also notes of green peppercorn and bay leaf to bring some complexity. I'm curious to see how this wine changes as the vines get a bit older.
