Walloon Lake 2017 “North Arm Noir” Marquette

Ripe black and blue fruits – cassis and black cherry – dominate a somewhat straightforward nose that also shows a little wood-born spice.

Pure, dark berry flavors are the highlight of a broader, rounder example of marquette where the acidity is a bit softer at the periphery. As it warms a bit, there is an interesting little black licorice note that peeks out at the end of a medium finish that also has a little woodsy character.
