Vermilion Valley Vineyards 2017 Pinot Gris

Vermilion Valley Vineyards 2017 Pinot Gris

90 points

This wine stands out for its ideal balance. Fresh aromas of just-ripe pear and white flowers are balanced by notes of blanched almond and vanilla wafer.

The medium-light bodied palate shows similar pear-flower-almond qualties along with a deft balance between citrusy acidity and just a bit of mid-palate weight. The finish is long and fresh with fresh-cut fruit and something that tastes just a little earthy.

All that for $16 makes this one of the better values I've encountered this year.
