Rosemont of Virginia 2018 “Block A”

When winemaker Justin Rose lost roughly half of his pinot grigio to the rains that soaked most of the East Coast in 2018, he decided to do a 50/50 blend with chardonel and to name it for the spot in the vineyard where the grapes were grown.

The result is a fresh, summer-ready white wine with aromas of green apples, citrus – lime and grapefruit – white flowers and white pepper.

Medium-light in body, the palate offers more apple and citrus flavors with the most subtle hints of something a bit more tropical. The acidity is fresh and mouth-watering and there is enough mid-palate concentration to keep this from being just another pinot grigio.

It's not complex, but it's fresh, fruity and definitely perfect for the patio.
