Rosemont of Virginia 2018 Rose

For a few years in a row, this chambourcin-based rose has been a standout during my tastings of East Coast rose.

The nose nicely straddles the fruity and the savory with berries – red cherry and strawberry – accented by notes of dusty earth and white pepper. The fresh, medium-bodied shows more of the same with nice balance. If you're looking for pure fruitiness, this might not be your thing, but if you want something with a savory edge to pair with barbecued chicken, it's a great pick.
