Standing Stone Vineyards 2018 “Teinturier” Saperavi Rose

Standing Stone Vineyards 2018 "Teinturier" Saperavi Rose

88 points

You probably know that most red wine grape juice is clear, like white wine grapes and that red wines get their color (among other things) from the skins. Teinturiers like saperavi, on the other hand, have red/tinted pulp. It should come as no surprise that this rose is a striking shade of pink that is darker than most rose.

Red fruit aromas like cranberry and pomegranate are made a bit more complex by notes of lime zest, lemon verbena, and white flowers.

Well-structured and balanced, the dry palate offers a punch of red fruits with lime at the edges. It's not complex, but it's vibrant and almost tart on the finish.
