I first tasted this wine at NY Drinks NY in late March 2019. Of the handful of tables I tasted at, I thought this was the best red wine. I then asked to sample the wine at home using my normal three-day tasting process.

There is a wonderful purity to the fruit aromas here – black cherry, blackberry and plum – with a subtle underlying earthiness and a hint of cherry pit.

Medium-bodied, the palate is framed more by fresh acidity than heavy tannin. The fruit is less giving than on the nose, coming across as youthful and taut. By the third day, it had opened a bit, revealing the same dark fruit combination as the nose with a beautiful woodsy spice edge and just the faintest notes of violet and cocoa beans.
