Unionville Vineyards 2017 Pinot Noir Reserve

Unionville Vineyards 2017 Pinot Noir Reserve

87 points

Very spice forward, the nose is reminiscent of cherry cola and cinnamon with smokey black tea and some macerated cherry skin.

The silky-fresh palate is similarly spice dominated. Cherries and cherry cola are sprinkled with cinnamon, clove, and allspice – to the point that the wine is perhaps lacking a bit of fruit overall. Still, the spice and earthy undertones are quite nice and almost savory.

There is a little tannin at the edges, but the structure here is provided by acidity.
