I’ve long enjoyed this unique rosé from Crozet, VA’s Stinson Vineyards for its distinctive combination of fruity and savory qualities. The 2019 edition exemplifies that with strawberry and white peach aromas backed by subtle notes of savory summer herbs.
On the lighter side body-wise, the palate brings more of those peaches and red berries with distinct notes of bay leaf and thyme and just a little orange peel. Given the lighter body, I found myself wanting just a bit more acidity, but that’s a minor complaint.
