William Heritage Winery 2019 Skin Contact Chardonnay Musque

Fruit aromas of musk melon, apricot, and tangerine are made far more interesting by layers of Earl Grey tea, dried flowers, and blanched almonds on an interesting-but-approachable (not all wines made in this style are so approachable).

Though lighter-bodied upfront, there is a nice little bit of tannic grip here, which frames the same melange of fruits found on the nose. The finish is long and turns a bit savory and saline with some white tea as well. Well done – and again – approachable example of orange wine.
