There aren’t many vineyards growing albarino yet, but those that are are making very promising wines that could help redefine the Long Island white wine world in coming decades – this current release included.
Incredibly aromatic, it bursts with aromas of peach and summer flowers with sea breeze accents. As it sits in the glass, there is an intriguing note of pistachio that pokes its head out too.
Medium-lighter in body, the palate is peach driven, but also shows tropical accents. There is plenty of brisk acidity here to slice through a nicely concentrated mid-palate. The long finish turns a bit more tropical – pineapple and papaya – with a salty edge.
